Job summary

Town of Holly Springs is seeking a Transportation Planner to shape multi-modal transportation for the community. The role focuses on long-range planning, funding, and coordination with new development within the Development Services Department.

The planner will perform professional activities in transportation planning, development review, and community engagement, with opportunities for growth across Planner I–III levels. Salary ranges are defined by grades and certifications.

Qualifications

• Degree required for Planner I; advanced degrees preferred for higher levels.
• Experience in transportation planning and related certifications appreciated.
• Familiarity with Unified Development Ordinance and land-use planning guidance

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in workshops, meetings, and public hearings to explain planning proposals.
• Prepare materials for community outreach events and present to groups.
• Coordinate with developers and design professionals on site design and policy issues.
• Provide technical guidance to the public, developers, and town staff.
• Support regional groups and manage long-range transportation planning projects.
• Assist in grant identification and administration for transportation programs.
