Job summary

The Town of Holly Springs is seeking a Development Review Engineer to join the Development Services department. You will oversee, manage, and provide technical guidance during all phases of preliminary plan and construction drawing review to ensure compliance with the Town’s standards and ordinances.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will supervise one or more Development Plan Reviewers and coordinate with utilities, transportation, stormwater, and environmental teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus six years of progressive engineering/construction experience, including municipal engineering.
• Engineer Intern (EI) certification.
• Experience reviewing civil projects including utilities, transportation, stormwater and land disturbance.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in attracting, retaining, and developing an engaged workforce in the delivery of superior services to Town residents and businesses.
• Supervises one or more Development Plan Reviewers, oversees, manages and provides guidance and quality control during all phases of preliminary plan and construction drawing review.
• Participates in meetings with developers, design professionals and owners for discussion of current and future development projects; provides UDO interpretations.
• Conducts detailed plan review of public utilities and transportation for assigned projects; ensures compliance with standards.
• Provides technical review and manages engineering studies and analyses related to development projects.
• Serves as staff to Boards; prepares and presents to the Boards; assists the public and professionals with information and guidance.
