Job summary

Colonial Group in Chambersburg is seeking a detail-oriented contract logistics assistant to plan, implement and coordinate DoD deliveries. You will log, track and download military shipping labels and documentation using the government system.

The role requires following detailed procedures, processing transactions in the warehouse management system, and coordinating with teammates to resolve issues. Strong communication and multitasking in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires strong verbal and written communication, and ability to understand and follow directions.
• Proficient computer skills; experience with MS Office Suite.
• Must be able to multitask and stay organized with orders in various processing stages.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and coordinate contract activities related to processing of DoD deliveries.
• Use government web-based distribution system to log, track and download shipping labels and documentation.
• Follow detailed procedures to obtain shipping instructions for materials with special requirements (e.g., hazardous, perishable).
• Complete online forms to obtain required shipping information.
• Process transactions in ASRC’s warehouse management system.
• Coordinate with colleagues to resolve similar issues and determine what to work on next.
• Communicate via email, phone and Microsoft Teams as needed.
• Interpret system-generated error messages and take corrective action.
• Notify management when problems arise, make recommendations and implement solutions.
• Attend conference calls as required.
