Job summary
Precision Castparts Corp. is seeking a Shipping/Receiving leader in California to drive safe, efficient, and cost-effective logistics operations.
The role focuses on supervising personnel, optimizing dock activities, and aligning with Sales and Production Control to meet customer demands. Ideal candidates will have an associate degree or higher with 3+ years in logistics, forklift/crane experience, and strong ERP skills (Oracle/Discoverer/Excel).
Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher with 3+ years in logistics.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and guidelines.
- Experience with forklifts and cranes.
- ERP experience (Oracle preferred), Discoverer and Excel.
- Active and licensed Class C driver with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Supervise shipping/receiving personnel to meet safety, productivity, and cost targets.
- Allocate material for shipments and document accordingly.
- Train Production Control staff in required logistics tasks.
- Coordinate shipping schedules with Sales and Production Control.
- Monitor freight costs and improve on-time performance.
- Lead daily shipping meetings and prepare forecast lists.
- Enforce safety regulations and implement 6S and Lean initiatives.
- Address and resolve workflow problems promptly.
