Job description

Guardian Glass is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to support our Float Glass Facility in Richburg, SC. This role is responsible for supervising hourly equipment drivers, supporting plant assets, and overseeing warehouse operations.

The position requires working rotating 8-hour shifts (days/afternoons/nights) and includes weekend and holiday availability as needed.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and manage individual performance through vision setting, one-on-one coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Oversee daily truck and load planning to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) and excel in organizing, planning, scheduling, and executing tasks.
  • Prioritize the safety of all employees and visitors to the facility.
  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve safety, quality, and logistics goals.
  • Provide leadership in performance management and corrective actions for the assigned crew.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes using lean methodologies to enhance plant performance.
  • Collaborate with planning, third-party logistics, and customer service to optimize load requirements.
  • Coordinate with the supply chain to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience (direct reports) in an industrial, warehouse, manufacturing/production, or military setting.
  • Familiarity with inventory control processes.
  • Experience in logistics, including scheduling/receiving deliveries and Less Than Truckload (LTL) operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and maintain accurate employee documentation.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Associate degree or higher.
  • Knowledge of drop yard operations.
  • Experience with warehouse cycle audits and inventory management systems.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management software.
  • Understanding of logistics, shipping, and receiving safety procedures.
