Job Summary

Assists customers with matters related to inland transportation of their cargo, by rail and / or truck.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor all import rail containers at the terminals to minimize dwell times.
• Communicate daily with the terminals regarding container departures.
• Dispatch all po’s to the truckers for off-dock containers.
• Liaises with Intermodal Customer Service, Import Customer Service, VIP Customer Service, and with various internal MSC departments local and globally as needed.
• Communicates quickly and effectively with respective vendors such as rails and truckers.
• Analyzes data and considers performance modifications and implements strategies to support process efficiencies.
• Provides timely and accurate responses to all inquiries regarding transportation statues and updates.
• Observes corporate guidelines when addressing vendor and customer inquiries regarding shipments.
• Escalates unique or complex issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution when necessary.
• Anticipates potential problems before they arise as well as having problem solving skills to solve any unforeseen issues.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Key Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in a similar role (supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, etc.)
