Abbott, a global healthcare leader, is seeking a Logistics Specialist in North Chicago to coordinate domestic and international shipments and ensure compliant, on-time delivery. The role supports supply chain, operations, purchasing, and customs processes.

You will manage documentation, carrier relationships, and reporting, while collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve logistics efficiency and reduce costs. Base pay is competitive and location-based.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating domestic and international transportation and logistics operations.
• Knowledge of export documentation, customs compliance, AES filings, and transportation regulations.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with logistics systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving orientation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage domestic and international shipments via air, ocean, ground, parcel, and expedited services.
• Ensure timely processing, tracking, tracing, and delivery of shipments.
• Prepare shipping documents including export docs, AES filings, and customs paperwork.
• Schedule carrier pickups and manage transportation providers to meet service requirements.
• Monitor shipments, resolve delivery issues, and file claims as needed.
• Collaborate with Customs Compliance to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Generate logistics reports and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support logistics projects and cross-functional coordination.
• Maintain records to support audits and quality standards.
• Provide after-hours support for critical shipments.
