Job summary

The Logistics Specialist at Ryder System, Inc. in Lansing, MI supports a specialized operational function for assigned work groups within SCS logistics. Expect 1st/2nd/3rd shift coverage with varying hours and potential float duties to cover absences. Salary ranges from $50,000 to $55,000 per year, with standard benefits for full-time employees

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• One year or more in logistics, warehouse or industry related field.
• One year or more Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• WMS intermediate preferred.
• MHE intermediate required.
• OSHA intermediate required.
• DOT and Hazmat intermediate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate daily/shift goals of facility and work group(s).
• Assist with and train hourly, SNE or other specialists.
• Lead and initiate employees through in depth training and continuous review of policies, procedures and processes.
• Decision making for location activities including demand planning, supplier calls, customer interactions, specialized process troubleshooting, etc.
• Support and aid in the development of system and process training for employees in the work group(s).
• Identify and/or solve operational issues with the account(s) by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.
