Position Summary

The Logistics Specialist is expected to perform shipping and receiving for Lectra spare parts, manage requests made to the warehouse, and conduct inventory maintenance as directed by the Warehouse Manager. Additionally, the role involves cross-training in order entry and managing purchase orders with suppliers. The position includes handling complex transactions such as returns, credit and rebilling invoices, and shipping international orders. Responsibilities vary daily, and the role provides backup support to other Logistics team members to ensure productivity and service levels are maintained.

Profile Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ship orders accurately and on time, prioritizing Lectra Service Request orders.
• Follow instructions regarding shipping requirements, tracking notifications, and carrier account usage as per order process.
• Communicate order and shipment acknowledgments promptly and professionally.
• Prepare customer shipments, including packaging, weighing, palletizing, scheduling carrier appointments, and preparing shipping documents (domestic and international).
• Use forklifts and material handling equipment to move larger items and freight.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse shipping area.
• Follow up on backorders and communicate status to relevant teams and customers.
• Coordinate with internal teams for clear communication on orders.
• Receive spare parts and consumables inventory accurately and on time.
• Generate internal orders for critical parts as needed.
• Participate in scheduled warehouse physical inventory counts.
• Handle client returns and prepare inventory for return to headquarters.
• Support logistics for trade shows and events.
• Place purchase orders with suppliers and process drop-shipment orders.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide quotes for parts.
• Enter customer orders into Salesforce and Oracle.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Position Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and consistency.
• Knowledge of warehousing and supply chain logistics best practices.
• Minimum 2 years experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Understanding of dangerous goods regulations (IATA or 49CFR) is a plus.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-4 years of warehouse and customer service or order entry experience.
• Experience with FedEx or UPS shipping software.
• Purchasing or supply chain planning experience is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle or SAP is a plus.
• Experience generating online way-bills is a plus.

Physical Demands

• Physical exertion including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting (50+ pounds). Team lifts may be required for heavier items.

Travel

• Minimal travel involved.
