Job summary

Siemens Energy in Houston is seeking a logistics professional to support the Grid Technologies Substation team. You will handle logistics budgetary pricing, contracting, and coordinating deliveries to project sites or warehouses, while keeping the project manager and customers informed of status.

You will work with sales and logistics partners to optimize pricing, evaluate supplier concepts for risks, arrange vessel bookings, manage documentation and customs, and provide organized status

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics including contracting freight forwarders and trucking companies, and international transportation.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Ability to work in teams with finance, marketing, and external customers.
• Must understand INCOTERMS and their impact on pricing and risks.
• Minimum 5 years in logistics forwarding.
• Knowledge of Canada freight forwarding processes; French language a strong plus.
• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

• Provide organized reporting to the project manager on delivery status and close out orders.
• Develop supplier relationships and help develop supplier onboarding processes.

Position will be primarily responsible for providing logistic support to the Grid Technology Substation team. This will involve supporting the sales process with logistics budgetary pricing, the execution process with contracting and coordinating deliveries of various Grid Technology components to project sites or warehouses and updating the project manager, customer and other stakeholders with the status.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Responsible for receiving requests for pricing, following an established process to log the information and retrieve pricing from logistics partners in a timely manner.
• Serve as primary interface with sales channels on all aspects of logistics budgetary pricing and concepts. Person will evaluate the concepts proposed by logistics partners to identify risks and work to mitigate them in the budgetary phase.
• Work with project management team to contract and coordinate the delivery of awarded orders.
• Work with the shippers to coordinate vessel bookings, documentation control, Customs processes (ISF, Clearances), etc.
• Provide organized reporting project manager as to the status of deliveries and follow up with documentation to close out the order as needed.
• Will develop supplier relationships and help develop supplier onboarding processes

What You Bring

• Experience in logistics, including contracting freight forwarders and trucking companies as well as experience in international transportation and documentation requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, High school diploma required.
• Ability to work well in teams interacting routinely with finance, marketing, and external customers
• Must understand INCOTERMS and how they may impact the pricing and risks.
• Min 5 years of experience in logistics forwarding.
• Knowledge of Canada freight forwarding processes, and ability to speak French a strong plus.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
