As Logistics Manager for the Large Generators (LGN) business unit within Gas Services, you will lead the logistics function, which is critical for the timely and efficient movement of materials and finished goods supporting manufacturing and repair operations. Your day will be centered around three core areas: hands-on management of daily logistics and warehouse operations, strategic planning and continuous process optimization, and effective team leadership and stakeholder engagement.

Working closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers, you will oversee the efficient flow of materials, optimize warehouse and transportation processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. By balancing tactical execution with long‑term strategic initiatives, you will help ensure operational continuity while supporting the broader business goals of the Large Generators business.

You will lead and develop a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective logistics operations that support our customers and business objectives.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, material handling, and storage to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and operational continuity.
  • Manage inbound and outbound transportation logistics for large‑scale components and finished products, coordinating with carriers and freight forwarders to support manufacturing and repair operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations within the logistics and warehouse environment.
  • Maintain precise inventory control through cycle counts, system reconciliation, and effective management of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Manage relationships and performance of third‑party logistics (3PL) providers to meet service level agreements and cost targets.
  • Develop and implement short‑term logistics strategies and policies that support business objectives and improve logistics performance.
  • Analyze logistics data and business metrics to identify trends, solve complex operational challenges, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the logistics budget, including forecasting expenses, monitoring costs, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Lead projects focused on optimizing workflows, enhancing warehouse layout, and implementing new logistics technologies and processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics professionals by setting clear performance goals and providing regular coaching and feedback.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the logistics organization.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain integration and support business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal customers regarding logistics issues, ensuring effective communication, strong stakeholder engagement, and timely problem resolution.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or managerial role with responsibility for directing and developing logistics professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, transportation management, inventory control, third‑party logistics (3PL), and supply chain management.
  • Experience managing logistics operations supporting manufacturing environments, including shipping, receiving, material handling, storage, and transportation activities.
  • Experience developing and implementing logistics strategies, managing budgets, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce costs.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze logistics data, business metrics, and operational trends to solve complex challenges.
  • Proficiency with SAP applications, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and other logistics‑related technologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other cross‑functional teams.
