Job summary

Western Partitions, Inc. is seeking a Logistics Specialist in Denton, TX to coordinate outbound shipments, schedule deliveries, and maintain shipment visibility.

You will work with production, packaging, trucking providers, and project teams to ensure on-time delivery and safe handling of products. The role requires 2–5 years in logistics or supply chain, familiarity with MES/ERP systems, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with construction projects, modular construction, or oversized loads preferred.
  • Experience coordinating freight claims and damage resolution preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team; strong time management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate trucking and transportation providers for outbound shipments.
  • Schedule deliveries to project sites and construction locations.
  • Track shipment status from manufacturing through final delivery.
  • Maintain shipping records and product status in MES/ERP systems.
  • Coordinate with packaging teams for safe loading and documentation.
  • Verify shipping documentation and delivery records.
  • Monitor shipment schedules and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with carriers and internal teams to resolve claims and issues.
  • Assist in procurement of packaging materials and supplies.
  • Support project delivery schedules with production and site teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of shipping and logistics processes.

Job Description

A Logistics Specialist plays a critical role in coordinating the shipment and delivery of finished products from manufacturing facilities to customer project sites. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with production teams, packaging personnel, trucking providers, andcustomers. The primary focus is ensuring products are packaged, shipped, tracked, and delivered safely and on schedule. A successful Logistics Specialist maintains shipment visibility, supports on-time delivery performance, and helps ensure products arrive at project sites in excellent condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate trucking and transportation providers for outbound shipments
  • Schedule deliveries to customer project sites and construction locations
  • Track shipment status from manufacturing through final delivery
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and product status within the MES system
  • Coordinate with packaging teams to ensure products are loaded safely and efficiently
  • Verify shipping documentation and delivery records
  • Monitor and communicate shipment schedules and delivery updates
  • Coordinate tarping, load securement, and special transportation requirements with carriers
  • Investigate and document shipping damages, shortages, and delivery issues
  • Work with carriers and internal teams to resolve freight claims and transportation concerns
  • Manage inventory and procurement of packaging materials including dunnage, blocking, straps, and related shipping supplies
  • Collaborate with production, project management, and site teams to support project delivery schedules
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to shipping, packaging, and logistics performance

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, manufacturing, or supply chain operations
  • Experience working with construction projects, modular construction, or oversized loads preferred
  • Experience coordinating freight claims and damage resolution preferred
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required to support shipping schedules and deliveries

Skills

  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, or manufacturing operations

  • Experience coordinating trucking companies and freight carriers
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ERP systems, or similar software
