Job summary

LHH is seeking a Logistics Specialist in Columbus, OH to support daily freight and transportation operations. The role focuses on scheduling, coordinating with planners and customers, and ensuring shipments stay on schedule.

The position requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with experience in transportation or logistics. The role is onsite, Monday–Friday, 9AM–6PM, lasting 60–90 days to cover a leave of absence.

Are you someone who enjoys problem-solving, coordinating moving pieces, and keeping operations running smoothly? We're partnering with a well-established transportation and logistics organization in Columbus, OH seeking a Logistics Specialist to support daily freight and transportation operations.

In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring shipments are picked up and delivered on time, communicating with customers and internal teams, and troubleshooting issues that could impact service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transportation, logistics, dispatching, supply chain, or operations experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

This position is expected to last at least 60-90 days while covering a team member's leave of absence. This position will sit onsite and operate 9AM to 6PM, Monday through Friday.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Schedule pickup and delivery appointments to support daily transportation operations
• Coordinate with planners, customers, and internal teams to ensure shipments stay on schedule
• Communicate important shipment updates and provide timely information to customers and business partners.
• Review available transportation capacity and help maximize efficiency across the network.
• Investigate service interruptions and help identify solutions to keep freight moving
• Maintain accurate records, shipment notes, and documentation within company systems

What We're Looking For:

• At least 1 year of transportation, logistics, supply chain, dispatch, brokerage, or related experience
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under deadlines
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable working with various teams and stakeholders throughout the transportation process
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business systems
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through
