Job summary

Trescal is hiring a Logistics Specialist at the Chicago, IL location. The role focuses on pick-up and delivery driving, inventory control, and ERP data integrity to support our shipping operations.

You will use UPS WorldShip and FedEx tools, coordinate with carriers, and ensure accurate documentation and records while maintaining a high level of customer service on every interaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL not required).
  • Experience in customer-facing roles.
  • Experience in shipping/receiving.
  • Experience with UPS WorldShip or FedEx shipping software.
  • Experience driving company vehicles for pickups/deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Enter data to maintain inventory control.
  • Keep Trescal’s ERP system up to date with shipping/receiving information.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory data for assigned areas.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of inventory areas.
  • Document records per quality system requirements.
  • Package and ship equipment; verify accessories/documentation.
  • Receive, unpack, and account for inbound orders.
  • Verify incoming shipments against documentation; flag discrepancies/damages.
  • Research shipping options for unusual packaging or customer needs.
  • Manage shipping claims through to resolution with carriers/customers.
  • Generate shipping labels using UPS WorldShip/FedEx.
  • Maintain relationships with shipping contacts.
  • Perform equipment entry and verifications; verify serials.
  • Identify equipment and confirm customer requirements.
  • Drive a truck/van to transport materials to/from customer sites (1–2 times/week).
  • Maintain records of pickups/deliveries and required documentation.
  • Handle, load, and secure items to prevent damage.
  • Inventory client assets at pickup.
  • Perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Provide professional, courteous service at customer facilities.
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies.
  • Assist with shipping/receiving and other logistics tasks as needed.

We have a great opportunity for a Logistics Specialist to join our team in our Chicago, IL location. In this role your main responsibility will be as a Pick-up and Delivery Driver on a daily basis.

Job Responsibilities
  • Enter a variety of data using current technology, helping to maintain inventory control.
  • Keeps Trescal’s ERP System up to date with pertinent shipping and receiving information.
  • Responsible for the integrity of system inventory data for their assigned areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of their assigned inventory areas
  • Responsible to maintain records as required by the quality system
  • Appropriately package and ship equipment to our customers and vendors. You will verify that accessories and options are documented according to shipping policies.
  • Receive, unpack, and account for the contents of all inbound orders.
  • Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against documentation and identify discrepancies and damage with incoming shipments.
  • Research and implement shipping options for unusual packaging situations or customer requirements.
  • Initiate and manage shipping claims through to resolution, including maintaining contact with delivery service and the affected customer as required.
  • Use UPS (Worldship) and Fed-Ex to generate shipping labels.
  • Maintain relationships with UPS, FedEx, and any other relevant parcel sales contacts.
  • Performs database equipment entry and validations. Verify manufacturer/model/serial numbers
  • Equipment identification and customer requirement verifications
  • Drive a truck or van to locations to transport materials and equipment to and from customer sites. Extensive driving will be required at least 1-2 times per week.
  • Maintain accurate records of pickups, deliveries, and required documentation
  • Handle, load, and secure items to prevent damage during transport
  • Inventory client assets upon pick-up
  • Perform basic vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
  • Provide professional, courteous service when interacting with customers at their facilities
  • Follow all safety procedures, traffic laws, and company policies
  • Assist with shipping, receiving and other logistics tasks as needed
Requirements
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • The ability to lift up to 70lbs
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record required (CDL NOT required)
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role
  • Previous work experience in a shipping and receiving role
  • Experience using shipping software such as: UPS WorldShip or Fed-Ex
  • Prior experience driving a company vehicle including pickup and delivery of equipment and/or supplies
