Job summary

Qualifications

• Some relevant experience required

Responsibilities

• Communicates instructions to checker/loaders, contracted truck drivers, and OTR carriers
• Coordinates and execute shipping schedules, and dispatch local freight shipments
• Creates shipping labels for paperwork received and contacts carrier to arrange shipment
• Counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against records
• Confers with managers to ensure coordination of production lines and finished product
• Logs and inventories shipments to keep a running total and ensure timely completion
• Resolves outbound and incoming delivery issues with key stakeholders
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure adherence to specifications
• Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and coordinates with shipper
• Coordinates movements of trailers with yard spotter
• Assists with waste tracking and disposal
• Prepares business reports as needed
• Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge
