Job summary

Core-Mark is seeking a Logistics Planner to optimize outbound shipments, maximize truck capacity, and reduce transportation costs while maintaining fill rates. You will work with procurement and specialized teams to ensure accurate scheduling and order accuracy, handling multiple tasks and collaborative problem solving.

The ideal candidate brings detail orientation, strong communication, and the ability to work across departments in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Math skills and 10-key numeric entry proficiency.
• 1–3 years of purchasing or related experience.
• Familiarity with R6, AS400 and SAP systems.
• Associates degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow weekly outbound shipment schedules and process orders on time.
• Collaborate with outbound team to meet billing deadlines.
• Assess OpCo needs weekly and adjust schedules accordingly.
• Ensure inventory status before placing orders.
• Review quantities and approve orders.
• Correct item-level buy multiples and packaging to avoid over-purchasing.
• Help reduce spoilage by preventing over-ordering.
• Coordinate promotional outbound cubes and fresh vendor cubes.
• Order promotional inventory using best practices.
• Review drop ship vendors and place orders as needed.
• Coordinate with buyers on allocations and database changes.
• Maintain communications with internal/external customers.
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
