Job summary

General Mills in Richmond, IN is seeking a Logistics Operator for the Blue Buffalo production site. This role offers a $24.44 per hour base wage plus a $1 shift differential for nights, with 12-hour shifts on a 3-on/2-off pattern. Night shift is currently hiring, and overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.

The position supports loading, forklift operations, and warehouse tasks in a 24/7 plant environment; extensive safety PPE is required and a strong team culture is emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• 1 year forklift experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Experience in warehouse operations and use of WMS preferred (SAP, Blue Yonder).
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
• Forklift license/certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and high lift equipment within production and warehouse operations.
• Select, prepare, and load product for outbound shipment per customer specifications.
• Responsible for storage of finished product and loading/inspecting outbound product.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
• Assist in training new employees.

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information

• 12-hour shifts - 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, schedule
  • Day shift: 7 am to 7 pm
  • Night shift: 7 pm to 7 am
• Currently hiring for NIGHT shift only
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days per week

  • Forklift and high lift equipment operation within production and warehouse operations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
• 1 year (minimum) Forklift experience (preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment)
• Experience in warehouse operations and use of WMS preferred (preferably SAP, Blue Yonder)
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
• Forklift license/certification or willing to obtain one
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
• Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
• Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
• Ability to work in a tobacco free environment
