Job summary

General Mills in Joplin, MO, is recruiting for a Maintenance Storeroom Parts Coordinator. The role runs on the 2nd shift (2 pm–10 pm) with 8-hour shifts and 24/7 plant operations; starting pay is $19.98 per hour, with potential advancement to higher pay.

Key duties include receiving and tracking parts, maintaining accurate inventory and reports, and collaborating with Engineering on Maximo and SAP processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with Maintenance Connection, Maximo and SAP.
• Minimum 6 months in storeroom/parts management and inventory.
• Ability to communicate in English with coworkers and supervisors.
• Basic computer skills to use digital tools daily.
• Forklift experience preferred; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stage, track kitted parts and work orders.
• Maintain labels and daily reports.
• Perform daily blind cycle counts and keep asset/inventory records up to date.
• Keep storeroom areas clean, organized, secure, and 5S-compliant.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance Leads on Maximo setup and source OEM parts.
• Support receiving by processing deliveries in Maximo and resolving quantity blocks.

Your Work Schedule and Shift Information

• 8-hour shifts
• 2nd shift: 2 pm to 10 pm
• Currently hiring for 2nd Shift (Monday through Friday shift schedule)
• Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed
• Plant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Receive, stage, track kitted parts and work orders
• maintain labels and daily reports
• Perform daily blind cycle counts and maintain accurate asset and inventory records, including the SAP Asset Ledger
• Maintain clean, organized, secure, and 5S-compliant storeroom areas
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance Leads on Maximo equipment setup and source OEM parts for cost savings
• Support receiving by processing deliveries in Maximo, resolving quantity blocks, and filing paperwork
• Expedite vendor orders, ensure timely parts delivery, and build relationships that help minimize plant downtime
• Maintain records and generate required reports in a timely manner
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
• Assist in training new employees

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Maintenance Connection and Maximo) and SAP
• 6 months (minimum) of experience in storeroom/parts management and inventory
• Must possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English)
• Basic computer skills with the ability to use digital tools and systems to complete daily work tasks
• Experience in manufacturing/production environment strongly preferred
• Forklift experience (counterbalance/sit down) preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods
• Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards
• Ability to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required)
• Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergens
