Job summary

J.B. Hunt in Conover, NC is seeking a Manager Trainee for the Supply Chain team. You will learn to manage a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, ensuring safe, timely freight movement and strong customer service.

You will be trained to comply with DOT regulations, manage driver compliance, and develop reporting, routing, and budgeting skills while working with internal and external contacts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in management/operations preferred.
• Willing to travel to account locations and events as needed.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain professional relationships with drivers and carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special fleet optimization projects.
• Assist with driver training, payroll tasks, and reporting requirements.
• Plan and monitor freight movements to meet customer requirements and improve profitability.
• Coordinate yard operations and maintenance for account equipment.
