With an expanding international footprint and technology-enabled logistics infrastructure, the organization supports clients across industries such as electronics, automotive, medical equipment, consumer products, and other manufacturing sectors.


As part of its continued expansion in the United States, the company is strengthening its logistics operations in the Greater Los Angeles area, with a focus on improving warehouse operations, transportation efficiency, cross-border delivery, vendor management, and last-mile fulfillment.


Job Role

The Logistics Operations Manager will oversee end-to-end logistics operations across the Greater Los Angeles area, including warehouse activities, inland trucking, drayage, cross-border transportation, container handling, and last-mile delivery.


This role will be responsible for ensuring efficient daily operations, controlling logistics costs, managing third-party service providers, monitoring cargo movement, resolving operational issues, and continuously improving logistics processes and SOPs.


The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing logistics operations in the United States, understands the Southern California logistics ecosystem, and is comfortable communicating in both English and Mandarin Chinese with internal stakeholders, customers, vendors, and overseas management.


Key Responsibilities


  • Oversee daily logistics operations across warehouses, inland trucking, drayage, cross-border transportation, container loading and unloading, and last-mile delivery activities.

  • Develop and optimize transportation schedules, delivery routes, and logistics plans to improve service levels and operational efficiency.

  • Monitor warehouse and transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement.

  • Manage third-party logistics vendors, including trucking companies, warehouse operators, customs brokers, and other service providers.

  • Conduct vendor performance reviews, commercial negotiations, contract coordination, and ongoing compliance monitoring.

  • Monitor cargo movement across the entire logistics process and ensure timely delivery to customers.

  • Proactively handle operational exceptions including shipment delays, cargo damage, cargo loss, customs holds, container changes, and delivery disruptions.

  • Coordinate with customs brokers and relevant logistics partners to support smooth customs clearance and cargo movement.

  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve logistics SOPs, inventory management procedures, and inbound/outbound inspection standards.

  • Monitor operational compliance and ensure logistics procedures are consistently followed by internal teams and external service providers.

  • Coordinate with overseas headquarters, international clients, local partners, and other stakeholders regarding operational requirements and logistics performance.

  • Prepare regular operational reports covering shipment status, warehouse performance, logistics costs, service levels, risks, and corrective actions.

  • Manage monthly logistics budgets and conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency improvement.

  • Lead post-incident reviews and implement corrective and preventive actions following major operational issues.

  • Support peak-season planning and ensure operational readiness for sudden increases in shipment volumes and customer requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve transportation, warehousing, inventory handling, and overall supply chain efficiency.

  • Provide recommendations to management regarding operational risks, vendor performance, cost optimization, and logistics strategy.


Candidate Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.

  • Proven hands-on experience in logistics or supply chain management within the United States.

  • Experience managing warehouse operations, trucking, drayage, freight forwarding, or last-mile delivery.

  • Familiarity with the Port of Los Angeles/Long Beach, Southern California drayage operations, and the Inland Empire logistics network is highly preferred.

  • Basic understanding of U.S. customs clearance processes and international freight operations.

  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers, trucking companies, warehouse operators, and customs brokers.

  • Strong understanding of logistics cost management, transportation planning, and operational efficiency improvement.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced in using WMS, TMS, or other logistics management systems.

  • Able to independently prepare operational reports, cost analyses, shipment tracking reports, and performance dashboards.

  • Strong problem-solving and emergency response capabilities, with the ability to handle shipment disruptions, peak-season volume increases, cargo issues, and last-minute operational changes.

  • Strong vendor management, negotiation, and stakeholder coordination skills.

  • Professional fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese, with the ability to conduct business negotiations, communicate with external parties, and coordinate with overseas management.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multicultural and international teams.

  • Must hold valid U.S. work authorization and be available for long-term, full-time employment in the United States.

  • Willingness to work on-site in Ontario, California and travel locally when required.

  • Proactive, resilient, commercially aware, and highly execution-oriented personality.

  • Experience working with Chinese-headquartered or China-related international logistics operations is an advantage.
