Job summary

DSV’s General Manager role oversees strategic direction, operations, compliance, and financial results for a designated operation in Port Reading, NJ. You will be the primary client interface for proposal approvals and contract negotiations, champion continuous improvement, LEAN, and ISO activities, and help grow new business while aligning with corporate mission and values.

Qualifications

• 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain environment in operations management capacity
• Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that systems and procedures are in place for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Leads operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals. Complies with terms outlined in site operating agreement with the client
• Sets goals to drive company Continuous Improvement efforts
• Works to develop and maintain productive business relations with vendors, suppliers, and all business partners. Ensures OSHA requirements and all Federal and State Law and compliance are effectively implemented.
• Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
• Assists in setting standards appropriate to client and scope of work
• Partners with senior leadership to develop and recommend annual operating budget
• Responsible for the overall safety and security of operation
• Develops team to achieve company and client objectives for the operation
• Communicates the mission, vision, and core values to motivate direct reports.
