J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks a Manager Trainee in Windsor Locks, CT, to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends.

You will ensure safe, timely freight movement, oversee load assignments, and deliver best-in-class customer service, while training for DOT compliance. The role covers payroll and budgeting duties, driver coaching, and performance reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
• 1 year of management, transportation/logistics, or related experience or equivalent military experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company events as needed.
• Willingness to regional relocate depending on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and safe outside carriers.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects to optimize fleet operations.
• Learn personnel management including training and orientation of drivers and employees.
• Analyze and report KPIs, profitability, and customer reporting for continuous improvement.
• Help manage yard operations, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate loads, routing, and on-time service to meet customer requirements.
