An established industry player is seeking a Logistics Specialist to oversee the efficient flow of goods and services. This role involves ensuring customer service objectives are met while managing financial constraints. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of DoD supply chain policies and logistics support systems. Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements. Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.
Basic Skills
Comprehensive knowledge of DoD policy relating Supply Chain, Property, and Inventory (e.g., DoD 4100.39, 4140.01, 4160.21, 4160.28, 5000.64, 8320.04, etc.). General knowledge of governing DoD and Service supply chain logistic support systems, i.e., Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS), FEDLOG, Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP), H2 Federal Supply Classification (FSC), H6 Item Name Directory, Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps / Army (GCSS-MC and GCSS-A), and Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS). Wide-ranging understanding of interoperability between all services supply chain data management. Be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds unassisted. Be able to travel to Continental/Contiguous United States (CONUS) / Outside of the Continental/Contiguous United States (OCONUS) as required.
Desired Skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, completing multiple tasks and meeting stringent deadlines. Possess intermediate skill level of Microsoft products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint (web portal). Familiar with Special Operations Logistics Management System (SOLMAN). Familiar with Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
