Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, offers a Logistics Intern opportunity to gain exposure to transportation requirements within logistics management and other lines of business. You will work with internal and external customers, dispatch teams, and carrier networks in a fast-paced environment.

Enrollment in an accredited college pursuing a degree in Logistics is required, with emphasis on communication, math, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field.
• Ability to read English sufficiently to read specifications, reports, manuals and regulations.
• Ability to perform intermediate math, including algebra, geometry and shop math.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Willingness to travel and work nights and weekends as required.
• Able to stand, walk, lift >10 pounds, and work in variable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers by email and telephone.
• Advise dispatch team of customer needs.
• Enter sales orders in Libra software system.
• Enter and maintain kiosk cards for Carrier Fleet.
• Assist Logistics Manager with trailer maintenance and repairs.
• Participate in daily updates with Dispatch Team.
