Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Logistics Engineer in Griffin, GA to lead design, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics processes that support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.

You will partner with manufacturing, engineering, and operations to develop innovative solutions and drive automation initiatives. The role requires a Bachelor’s in a relevant field and experience with Lean/Six Sigma, data analytics, and warehouse optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience in engineering, operations, or related field.
• Experience leading logistics engineering initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing capital projects and automation solutions in warehousing or distribution.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute logistics engineering projects to improve safety, capacity, productivity, and automation capabilities.
• Design, analyze, and optimize material flow, storage, transportation, and warehouse processes to reduce costs.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to identify waste and implement sustainable logistics solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams to develop scalable solutions.
• Use data analytics, simulations, and performance metrics to evaluate operations and recommend improvements.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, process documentation, and standard work for logistics operations.
• Conduct root cause analyses and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Support facility expansions and new product introductions with scalable logistics strategies.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Train and mentor operational teams in new logistics processes and systems.
• Perform other duties as needed by Caterpillar management.
