Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Brooklyn Park, MN is seeking a Logistics Engineer to manage inbound and outbound material flow, ensuring timely and efficient movement to activity points along the material flow path.

You will design warehouse storage and point-of-use layouts, procure machinery and equipment, and plan workforce and equipment needs while coordinating with engineering, manufacturing operations, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics management, or engineering.
• Experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation management.
• Material distribution and material handling equipment experience.
• Understanding of materials systems and how they interrelate.
• Knowledge of CPS (Caterpillar Production System) and SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound material flow for timely movement to activity points.
• Design warehouse storage and point-of-use layouts and procure machinery/equipment.
• Plan workforce and equipment needs and coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain functions.
• Oversee inventory transfer and rearrangement planning and ensure process standards are followed.
• Evaluate logistics processes, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
