Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking a Dispatcher I to oversee local pickup and delivery operations, coordinating drivers and communicating shipment information between drivers and delivery agents. The role emphasizes accurate event data entry, strong customer service, and effective load planning within a dynamic team.

The position offers potential for weekend hours and a wage range of $22.70–$32.00 per hour, with geographic variations based on knowledge and experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED equivalency required; Associate Degree or equivalent preferred.
• 0-3 years in Freight Forwarding industry experience preferred and/or industry experience in customer service/operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Previous Experience working with AS400 preferred.
• Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills with abilities to develop new ideas and innovative solutions.
• High attention to details and organization.
• Strong geographic and mapping skills. Sense of direction and coordination to build routes.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills with customers, drivers, and co-workers—communication is key!

Responsibilities

• Route local freight and dispatch drivers.
• Track shipments and enter milestone data in MyAIT & AS400.
• Provide customer service and address inquiries/concerns.
• Assign driver load planning based on local mapping and appointments.
• Coordinate prioritization of rushed/urgent/last-minute shipments.
• Perform other duties as needed by business demands.
• Ensure accuracy of pickup and delivery documentation.
