Job summary

SGS Consulting in Sacramento, CA seeks a logistics coordinator to manage driver scheduling, document preparation for 3rd parties, and daily time-tracking. The role interfaces with Lab and Transfer Site leads to ensure smooth off-loading and job coverage.

You will monitor equipment status, maintain the job board, and coordinate supplies and safety compliance with the operations team. Previous experience in transportation administration is a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and safety practices.
• Experience coordinating with drivers and lab/transfer sites.
• Proficiency in scheduling and time-tracking processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare documents for 3rd parties to off-load with Lab and Transfer Site Lead Hand.
• Schedule drivers’ daily work assignments and dispatch for milk runs and one-offs.
• Collect and monitor all work orders, manifests, service receipts, and time-sheets; verify hours daily.
• Collect paperwork (JSA’s, Confined Space Permits, etc.) from Operators upon job completion and review for completeness.
• Interface with operations manager and Site Supervisor to coordinate coverage of all jobs with equipment, personnel and materials.
• Maintain a continually updated job board detailing status of personnel and equipment, including rental gear.
• Communicate changes in mechanical or operational status of equipment to management.
• Monitor upcoming jobs and prepare for higher activity levels with the operations manager.
• Collect and monitor Circle Checks & Logs for forwarding to Transportation Administrator.
• Assist in distributing supplies needed for tasks and ensure complete accounting of distribution.
• Notify account salesman and management of any problems reported on jobs.
• Monitor hourly personnel time to minimize overtime.
• Work with safety department to ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and DOT regulations.
• All other duties as assigned by Management.
