Job summary

Smp Automotive is seeking a full-time Clerical position in Cottondale, AL. You will support the Logistics Department with on-time shipping, dispatching, imports/exports, and freight billing. Tasks include preparing shipping docs, LKW schedules, and handling customer complaints and test reports.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, experience in automotive logistics, and solid knowledge of SAP R3, MRP/PPS systems, and MS Office. OSHA awareness and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in shipping/logistics and automotive manufacturing preferred.
• Proficient with SAP R3 and ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong English verbal and written communication.
• Ability to handle customer complaints and test reports.
• Knowledge of 5 Why problem solving and 5S principles.
• Familiar with OSHA standards and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical support to Logistics Department ensuring on-time shipping and dispatch.
• Prepare picking lists, accompanying documents, and VDA labels.
• Handle shipping documents and customs clearance (import/export).
• Respond to customer complaints and prepare delivery deviation reports.
• Coordinate LKW schedules and ensure on-time supply to production and customers.
• Maintain inventory specifications and secure supplies for customer orders.
• Engage in logistics projects and cross-functional collaboration with QA, accounting, and production.
• Assist with freight billing and other duties as assigned.
