Job summary

Bennett Motor Express Management Inc, located in Tipton, IN, seeks a logistics specialist to secure outside carriers for available freight and negotiate pay that meets internal standards.

You will set up new carriers, send rate confirmations, and follow up to obtain signed documents for billing, with emphasis on timely pickup and delivery in a fast-paced brokerage environment.

Qualifications

• Dispatch or Planner experience preferably within a flatbed and step-deck environment.
• Strong data entry and phone communication skills.
• Brokerage experience is preferred; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Secure outside carriers for available freight and negotiate rate of pay within company standards.
• Follow up with carriers on pickup and delivery, and obtain signed proof of delivery for billing.
• Onboard new carriers by sending contracts and profiles to add them to the system.
• Ensure timely billing by confirming rate agreements and supporting documents.

Overview:Secure outside carriers for available freight.Negotiate rate of pay and secure signed rate confirmation.Follow Up with carriers on pickup, delivery, and obtain signed proof of delivery for billing purposes.Duties:Secure outside carrier equipment for available loads. Contact outside carriers on any and all loads made available to brokerage by agents and or dispatch. Use rate services to find posted/available equipment. Dispense all necessary information to carrier for loading/unloading purposes.Negotiate rate of pay that will fall within our standards. Rate of pay may vary based on the importance of a particular load. Send rate confirmation to carrier with any specifics that may pertain to a particular load. Follow up to assure that a signed rate confirmation has been returned by carrier.Setup new carriers...sending contract and associated profile to carrier for purpose of adding that carrier to system as an active carrier. Making sure that carrier is aware of and understands our policies.Billing Freight Coordinators need to follow up with carriers that they have booked loads with in order to insure prompt pickup and timely delivery of loads and to obtain signed proof of delivery which will assist the department in meeting its billing requirements.Requirements:Dispatch or Planner experience preferably within a flatbed and step -deck environment.Van experience is helpful.AS400Data entry and strong phone skills.Prefer brokerage experience.Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.EEO/Vets Minorities/Women/Disabledwww.bennettig.com
