Job summary

Bennett International is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Tipton, IN to secure outside carriers and manage rate confirmations. You will coordinate pickups, keep carriers aligned with schedules, and support billing with signed proofs of delivery.

This role requires dispatch/planner experience, AS400 knowledge, and strong communication in a fast-paced environment. Experience in brokerage is a plus, with a focus on accuracy, vendor setup, and timely follow-up to ensure efficient freight movements

Qualifications

• Dispatch or Planner experience in a flatbed/step-deck environment.
• Van experience is helpful.
• AS400 system knowledge, data entry, and strong phone skills.
• Brokerage experience is preferred.
• Must work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Secure outside carrier equipment for available loads.
• Negotiate rate of pay within company standards and send rate confirmations.
• Follow up with carriers on pickup, delivery, and PODs for billing.
• Set up new carriers by sending contracts and updating carrier profiles.
• Coordinate timely pickups and deliveries to support billing deadlines.

Contact outside carriers on any and all loads made available to brokerage by agents and or dispatch. Use rate services to find posted/available equipment. Dispense all necessary information to carrier for loading/unloading purposes.* Negotiate rate of pay that will fall within our standards. Rate of pay may vary based on the importance of a particular load. Send rate confirmation to carrier with any specifics that may pertain to a particular load. Follow up to assure that a signed rate confirmation has been returned by carrier.* Setup new carriers...sending contract and associated profile to carrier for purpose of adding that carrier to system as an active carrier.
