Job summary

Omaha Steaks is seeking a Logistics Specialist in Omaha to manage inbound/outbound freight and coordinate with suppliers, production, and distribution. You will support effective communication with 3rd-party suppliers and serve as a liaison among procurement, inventory, distribution, sales, and logistics teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating with internal groups to ship freight, dispatching third-party carriers, evaluating rates, and overseeing transportation contracts while ensuring cost

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in logistics coordination with a transportation background.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with procurement, supply chain, and fulfillment to ship freight to/from Omaha Steaks locations and 3PL vendors.
• Sources, evaluates, onboards, and dispatches third-party carriers for dry TL and temperature-controlled freight.
• Vets 3rd party carrier freight rates and selects cost-effective options balancing cost, service, capacity, and delivery requirements.
• Operates McLeod TMS to dispatch carriers for inbound/outbound shipments.
• Manages transportation agreements with carriers and 3PL brokers; coordinates bids and monitors shipments; maintains KPIs.
