Job summary

Omaha Steaks is seeking a Logistics Specialist to manage inbound/outbound freight, coordinate with 3rd-party carriers, and support the procurement, production, and distribution teams.

You will monitor shipments, optimize cost and service, and ensure compliance across transportation partners. A 4-year degree and logistics experience are preferred; strong communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree or equivalent.
• Two years' logistics coordination experience with transportation background.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Flexible, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to supervise and mentor staff.
• Veterans encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with procurement, supply chain and fulfillment to ship freight.
• Sources and dispatches third-party carriers for dry TL and temperature-controlled freight.
• Vet rates and select cost-effective carriers balancing cost, service, and delivery.
• Operates TMS (McLeod) to dispatch inbound/outbound shipments.
• Negotiate and manage transportation agreements; obtain bids and monitor shipments.
• Directly supervise the Logistics Coordinator and assign work.
• Code invoices and maintain KPI reporting and transportation budgets.
• Support the private fleet backhaul program and cross-functional logistics projects.
