Job summary

R E Garrison Trucking is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Chattanooga, TN, to ensure freight moves from origin to destination and to manage transportation from pre-pickup through delivery.

You will communicate with shippers, carriers and teammates, build carrier relationships, and address issues like claims and OS&D. A college degree in logistics is preferred and Microsoft Office skills are valued.

Qualifications

• College degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business preferred.
• Previous customer service and/or Logistics experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the Trucking Industry a plus.
• Excellent communication skills over-the-phone, through e-mail and face to face.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to calculate transit times.

Responsibilities

• Ensures freight moves from origin to final destination.
• Manages transportation from pre-pickup through delivery.
• Communicates with shippers, carriers and team members.
• Builds and maintains carrier relationships.
• Assists customers and advises carriers as needed.
• Addresses issues quickly (claims, detention, OS&D, layovers, breakdowns).
• Keeps carrier updates on the brokerage board and directs calls to the correct person.
• Logistics coordinators stay late to achieve results.
