Position Overview
Responsible for making sure supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the delivery and/or warehouse system efficiently and safely.
Essential Job Functions
- Follows all standard operating procedures relevant to job, position and department.
- Coordinates with Production Scheduling, Purchasing, and other Logistics personnel to ensure the movement of raw materials in order to meet production schedules in a timely manner.
- Unloads all raw materials (stock, corrugated, etc., but not ink), tags it and places them in proper location for future retrieval.
- Ensures availability of safe, clean, and orderly storage space for raw materials and supplies.
- Ensures the accurate input of raw material transactions into Amtech reporting system, including editing the resultant data for errors.
- Assists in the placement of corrugated and foil materials onto the appropriate warehouse racks.
- Apprises Purchasing of any materials that do not meet the requirements of Diamond Packaging.
- Advises appropriate personnel of incoming shipments so that evaluation of condition and conformance to specification(s) may be determined.
- Assists Cost Accounting in the monthly cycle counts to ensure an accurate inventory of raw materials.
- Ensures movement of internal materials to designated areas.
- With direction from Logistics Lead, pulls orders from the warehouse to fill daily shipping releases.
- Works with freight carriers to ensure that all materials are loaded properly on the trailer and that all paperwork is properly filled out.
- Completes safety checklist of forklifts daily.
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and company box truck.
- Observes all safety rules and procedures.
- Keeps work area organized, neat, and clean.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have high school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a logistics position.
- Proficient with computers and data entry.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- Must be able to successfully pass drivers physical examination.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, job tickets, and procedural manuals.
- Must be able to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Must be able to maintain good attendance.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
