Job summary

The JOY FM in Virginia is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and monitor movement of materials, shipments, and deliveries, ensuring efficient transportation, accurate records, and compliant operations.

You will work with warehouse staff, drivers, carriers, and customers to optimize schedules, prepare shipping documents, track shipments, resolve delays, verify invoices, and generate performance reports to support continuous improvement in logistics and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of logistics, transportation, dispatch, supply chain, or warehouse coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments.
• Communicate with drivers, carriers, vendors, and customers regarding delivery schedules and shipment status.
• Monitor transportation activities to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
• Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, bills of lading, manifests, and delivery records.
• Track shipments and resolve transportation delays or service issues.
• Maintain accurate inventory, freight, and logistics records in company systems.
• Verify freight costs, delivery receipts, and carrier invoices for accuracy.
• Assist in routing and load planning to maximize efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure orders are prepared and staged for shipment.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
• Investigate and resolve customer concerns related to shipping, delivery, and logistics services.
• Generate reports on transportation performance, delivery metrics, and logistics activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
