Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator will support operational activities related to the inbound and outbound transport of biological specimens and collection kit manufactured products. Responsibilities include tracking specimens from pickup to delivery. Employees act as a liaison between customers and internal/external partners. Job assignments are managed independently and evaluated based on performance. The role involves coordinating domestic and international shipments, ensuring cost-effective transportation, and maintaining service levels. The schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 7am-3:30pm, in Pleasanton. The hourly rate is $23.

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate, monitor, and troubleshoot pickup requests with FedEx, DHL, or courier services for customers or internal sales.
• Track inbound samples and outbound shipments, proactively troubleshooting and intervening as needed.
• Improve logistics processes, streamline workflows, and build vendor relations.
• Monitor courier/vendor performance, provide feedback, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Implement service strategies, manage service levels, and develop proactive actions for departmental improvements.
• Send daily transit reports, analyze data for system and process enhancements, and develop projects to reduce freight costs.
• Serve as the primary contact for logistics issues with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a service-related area.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of FedEx, DHL, UPS, and international logistics.
• Strong understanding of products and services for handling inbound/outbound calls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented with a focus on organizational goals.
• Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, prioritize, and pay attention to detail.
• Limited travel up to 10%.
