Job summary

Chromalox, part of Spirax Group, seeks a Logistics Coordinator to plan and coordinate import/export of goods and domestic shipments, manage shipping documentation, routes, schedules, and communicate with customers, brokers, importers, and U.S. Customs.

You will solicit bids, act as intermediary among brokers, importers, and agents, coordinate ocean, air, ground transport, and ensure accurate documentation, scheduling, and compliance with regulations, while maintaining a high level of service.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of import/export experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of import rules, foreign trade, and U.S. export regulations.
• Experience with customs, tariffs, and export/import documentation.
• Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Solicit bids for shipments, prepare documentation, routes and schedules.
• Coordinate between brokers, importers, customers, and U.S. CBP for documents.
• Arrange ocean, air, ground transport and inland movements.
• Ensure proper classification, packing, and shipment details.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and communicate status to customers.

The Role:

Plansand coordinates business transactions involving the import and export of goodsto foreign countries, as well as domestic shipments. Coordinates shippingdocumentation, routes, schedules, transportation methods, and communicationwith customers, brokers, importers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, andother internal and external stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:

• Solicitsbids for export and import shipments, prepares required documentation,shipping routes, and schedules, and negotiates pricing and service.
• Actsas an intermediary between Chromalox UT, customer brokers, importers, andU.S. Customs and Border Protection agents for negotiation, documentreview, and distribution.
• Workswith foreign buyers, federal agents, and company executives to coordinateocean, air, ground, and other transportation methods.
• Solicitsbids for domestic shipments and prepares required documentation, shippingroutes, and schedules.
  Identifiestimely and cost-effective shipping methods and coordinates storage,pick-and-pack operations, consolidations, full-container movements, andinland transportation.
• Determinesproper classifications of dutiable value and products subject to quotas.
  Completesshipment details and documentation, including licensing agreements,customs declarations, packing, and shipping requirements.
• Maintainsaccurate and organized shipping documentation and files.
• Providescustomer service regarding shipment status, routing, and schedules.
• Operatesequipment used to prepare products for shipment and utilizes label, FedEx,UPS, and LTL shipping programs.
• Reviewspacking lists to ensure all required items are included and usesappropriate materials to prepare and pack containers for shipment.
• Performsroutine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required forTPM.
• Worksindependently and as part of a team to develop and implement quality andefficiency improvements.
• Conductstests and inspections of processes and examines work to verify conformanceto specifications.
• Cross-trainson essential department functions and works at different workstations asproduction and business needs require.
• Mayoperate a forklift to unload or move materials and products.
• Establishesand maintains effective interpersonal working relationships and assistswith training and teaching others as needed.
• Maintainsa clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.
• Supports and participates in company, department,safety, quality, and operational policies, procedures, programs, andactivities.
  

Requirements:

• Highschool diploma with two to three years of related experience; or anequivalent combination of education and experience with import/exportprocesses and domestic shipping practices.
• Knowledgeof import rules and regulations of foreign countries, shipping methods,U.S. government export regulations, special packaging or handlingrestrictions, hazardous materials requirements, and documentationassociated with foreign trade.
• Experiencewith customs regulations, tariffs, international law, and export-importregulations.
• Basicknowledge of computer software applications, including word processing,spreadsheets, databases, and customer logistics programs and software.
• Abilityto add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using wholenumbers, common fractions, proportions, and decimals.
• Abilityto understand and use various measuring devices to meet drawing dimensionsand specifications.
• Abilityto read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, workinstructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenanceinstructions, and procedure manuals.
• Goodverbal and written communication skills.
• Strongattention to detail with the ability to follow through, establishpriorities, and meet deadlines.
• Abilityto work effectively independently and as part of a team in a manufacturingand shipping environment.
