Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably in freight forwarding or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with LTL, FTL, parcel, ocean, and air freight processes.
• Understands musical instrument logistics including fragile item handling and international shipping requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily freight shipments, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate with carriers and customers to ensure on-time performance.
• Facilitate import/export clearances with Trade Compliance team.
• Collaborate with shipping teams on GPS/climate tracking setup and review.
• Track and monitor shipments to proactively address delays or issues.
• Prepare and maintain transportation documentation (BOLs, PODs, invoices).
• Review and approve freight invoices.
• Support operations with reporting, analysis, and process improvements.

Detail-oriented and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to join the transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the movement of freight, coordinating schedules, and ensuring efficient and timely delivery of shipments inbound to factories and DC’s, and outbound to customers.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate daily freight shipments, including scheduling pickups and deliveries.
• Communicate with carriers and customers to ensure on-time performance.
• Facilitate and elevate import and export clearances with Trade Compliance team.
• Collaborate with shipping teams on setup and review of GPS/climate tracking.
• Track and monitor shipments to proactively address delays or issues.
• Prepare and maintain transportation documentation (BOLs, PODs, invoices, etc.).
• Build strong relationships with vendors and partners.
• Optimize routes and loads to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
• Handle customer inquiries, provide shipment updates, and resolve service issues.
• Maintain accurate records in TMS (Transportation Management System).
• Review and approve freight invoices.
• Support the operations team with reporting, analysis, and continuous process improvements.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, complex formulas); SQL knowledge a plus.
• Basic awareness of import/export regulations and customs requirements.
• Experience with logistics systems (TMS, ERP, WMS).
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business analytics, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably in freight forwarding, consumer goods or musical instrument manufacturing.
• Familiarity with LTL, FTL, parcel, ocean, and air freight processes.
• Understands specific musical instrument logistics, including fragile item handling, protective packaging, and international shipping regulations for specialized materials
