Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Expedited Logistics Coordinator for a contract-to-hire role based on-site in Belleville, MI. You will manage time-sensitive shipments from order entry through final delivery and communicate with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams to keep shipments moving.

No prior logistics experience is required, but you should be reliable, proactive and customer-focused. The position offers full-time hours with several shift options; pay ranges from $22 to $25 per hour

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and professional phone presence.
• Comfortable communicating by phone most of the day.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel; able to multitask.
• Detail-oriented with good follow-through and decision making.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor expedited and time-critical shipments from initial order through delivery.
• Track shipments and ensure milestones and status updates are completed on time.
• Communicate with customers, carriers, vendors and internal teams throughout the shipment process.
• Provide proactive updates and respond quickly to customer questions or changing needs.
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment information and documentation.
• Identify potential delays and escalate appropriately.
• Manage multiple shipments, emails, and calls while prioritizing tasks.
• Ensure continuity of shipment details between shifts.

Looking to start or grow your career in logistics and supply chain? Were hiring multiple Expedited Logistics Coordinators to join a fast-paced transportation operation.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive, organized, comfortable communicating by phone and email, and able to think on their feet. Previous logistics experience is a plus, but it is not required. Were open to candidates with strong customer service backgrounds who are motivated to learn and build a long-term career in the industry.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Expedited Logistics Coordinator, you'll help manage time-sensitive shipments from order entry through final delivery. You'll serve as a key point of communication between customers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams to keep shipments moving and customers informed.

• Coordinate and monitor expedited and time-critical shipments from initial order through delivery
• Track shipments and ensure important milestones and status updates are completed on time
• Communicate with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams throughout the shipment process
• Provide proactive updates and respond quickly to customer questions or changing needs
• Enter and maintain accurate shipment information and documentation
• Identify potential delays or service issues and escalates them appropriately
• Manage multiple shipments, emails, phone calls, and priorities throughout the day
• Respond quickly to new orders and changing shipment requirements
• Communicate important shipment details between shifts to ensure continuity
• Follow established procedures for order management, tracking, communication, and escalation
• Work closely with teammates and leadership to provide a high level of service and maintain on-time performance

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is reliable, energetic, and takes initiative. You don't necessarily need years of logistics experience to be successful in this position.

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills and a professional phone presence
• Comfortable spending a significant portion of the day communicating by phone
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to stay calm and make good decisions when situations change quickly
• Dependable work history and a go-getter mentality

Nice to Have:

• 1+ year of logistics, transportation, dispatch, freight forwarding, or related experience
• Experience coordinating carriers or vendors
• Experience with expedited freight, Next Flight Out (NFO), or time-critical shipments
• General knowledge of U.S. and international geography

Tuesday Saturday

• 6:00 AM 2:00 PM

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belleville, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
