Qualifications

Job Overview

The International Logistics Inbound Associate is responsible for coordinating and monitoring import shipments while ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and company policies. This position manages the customs clearance process for inbound shipments, prepares and reviews required import documentation, and works closely with Customs Brokers, suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely and accurate shipment processing.

The role supports the clearance of approximately 6,500 import entries annually and serves as a key point of contact for Customs Brokers, responding to daily requests for shipment and documentation information. Responsibilities include analyzing parts to determine appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, monitoring shipment status, reviewing customs entries for compliance, and providing timely updates to Customer Service, the Unit Down Team, and other internal customers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced international logistics environment while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, accuracy, and customer service.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of imported goods, minimizing delays, and supporting overall supply chain operations through proactive communication and effective coordination with both internal and external business partners.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor the customs clearance process for inbound international shipments to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
  • Prepare and review import documentation for assigned accounts, ensuring all required information is complete and available for Customs Brokers.
  • Track inbound shipments from assigned countries, suppliers, and transportation providers to support timely delivery and customs clearance
  • Analyze parts and product information to determine appropriate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications and country-of-origin requirements
  • Manage and support the clearance of approximately 6,500 import entries annually while responding to daily inquiries from Customs Brokers
  • Review customs entry documentation for accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations and company standards
  • Maintain and update trade and customs databases with key import and customs entry information
  • Provide shipment status updates and support to Customer Service, the Unit Down Team, and other internal stakeholders
  • Review, approve, and monitor payment of freight and customs brokerage invoices for assigned accounts
  • Support continuous improvement, workplace organization, and safety initiatives through adherence to 5S and departmental standards
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must have High School education or equivalent
  • Previous data entry experience with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of general business documents such as invoices, bills of ladings, airway bills, freight invoices, and custom documents
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Previous experience in Logistics or general business environment preferred
  • Strong orgnaiational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-pacedenvironment
  • Demonstrated sense of urgenc and commitment to delivering accurate, timely results
  • Regular and reliableattendance

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (life, carry, move) light to medium weights of 1-10 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
