Responsibilities

• Manage and successfully implement a portfolio of diverse projects at company facilities.
• Lead projects through five phases of the Marathon Project Management Process: Conceptual, Feasibility, Definition, Implementation, and Start-up/Close-out.
• Collaborate with affected departments to assess resource estimates, schedules, benefits, and safety impacts.
• Support detailed design and technical reviews to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Prepare bid requests for material, labor, and equipment and evaluate proposals.
• Support multiple projects from conception through commissioning and start-up.
• Lead project safety efforts, including safety meetings, MOC processes, energy isolation procedures, and HES goals.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and optimize processes using engineering practices.
• Participate in project safety reviews, including HAZOPs, PHAs, and PSSRs.

Requirements

• Earned Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited institution required (December 2026 or May 2027 graduate)
• Strong academic performance
• Zero (0) to three (3) years of related experience required
• Successful completion of a Marathon Petroleum (MPC/MPLX) internship/co-op is required
• Valid driver's license for work-related travel
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
• Travel up to 25-35% of the time is expected, including some overnight travel
