Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Findlay, Ohio, seeks an entry‑level Engineering Project Coordinator to support all phases of capital projects, from development through start‑up. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, cost estimates, DSP preparation, and coordination with Maintenance, Construction and Turnaround teams.

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; Electrical, Civil, Mechanical or Chemical degrees are preferred. Zero or more years of industry experience are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Applies project management across all phases: development, justification, design, construction, and start-up.
• Supports project documentation, data gathering, and coordination tasks under supervision.
• Assists with cost estimates, schedules, and DSP preparation.
• Participates in MOC, PSI, and mechanical integrity documentation reviews and learns requirements.
• Coordinates with external engineering consultants and designers to complete projects and studies cost-effectively.
• Develops scope, cost estimates, and schedules for capital and expense projects; prepares DSPs and presents to leadership.
• Collaborates with stakeholders including Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams to support planning and execution.
• Observes HAZOP reviews and incident investigations
• Learns engineering codes and specifications; ensures designs meet safety, environmental, and permitting standards.
• Promotes safety awareness and takes corrective action when unsafe practices or conditions are observed.
