Job summary

Bombardier US Aerostructures in Texas is seeking a Logistics Agent II to support material planning and supplier coordination. You will play a key role in ensuring on-time deliveries, processing orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records within a robust ERP environment.

This position emphasizes collaboration with engineering, operations, and procurement, leveraging MRP fundamentals and Lean principles to optimize the Demand-to-Supply flow.

Qualifications

  • Typically 3-4 years related experience in logistics.
  • Knowledge of MRP principles and supply chain management.
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements.
  • Place internal and external orders for components to ensure continuous material flow.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to meet schedule requirements and resolve issues.
  • Maintain master data for suppliers and inventory policies.
  • Support cross-functional teams to resolve delivery issues.
  • Track shipments and manage inventory levels.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements
  • Provide placement of internal and external orders for components, outside processing, subcontracting and attrition relative to requirements to ensure a continuous flow of materials and meet Material Requirements Planning (MRP) demand
  • Harmonize, communicate, and resolve issues relating to internal and external suppliers not meeting schedule requirements, for example, capacity, scrap, component discrepancies, alternate methods and materials as well as schedule changes
  • Monitor and communicate component shortages to expedite and secure supplier fulfillment of demand and update Operations on shortage status
  • Perform administration of internal and external supplier contracts, for example, performance metrics, price escalation, order and delivery changes, invoice and receiving discrepancies, and quotations
  • Maintain and adhere to master data information of internal and external suppliers, for example, price, lead times, and order policies
  • Develop recommendations for parts or program change management process, for example, price, lead times, make-buy, and part number changes
  • Maintain and adhere to inventory-level and capacity targets
  • Initiate and coordinate with other departments such as Engineering, Methods, Quality Assurance, Operations and other Material Logistics functions to resolve problems concerning delivery, component discrepancies, and lead times with internal and external suppliers
  • Participate in special projects, for example, certification effort, Six Sigma, and Natural Work Team
  • Analyze, schedule and action orders based on Master Production Requirements and/or MRP signals in accordance with established governances and policies
  • Post daily work plan, load work centers and post Modification notices and close orders
  • Inter-site coordination to harmonize schedule deliveries, change packages and address miscellaneous issues
  • Participate in improvement projects related to the Demand to Supply process, including but not limited to, cost reductions, system modifications and data management
  • Track status of material shipments including custom issues and waybills
  • Maintain inventory level and in-flow schedules to minimize obsolete, inactive and excess inventory
  • Maintain accurate records and archives per documented procedures
  • Manage post disposition activities of non-conforming assets to meet schedule
  • Ensure documentation is compliant to internal and external policies and regulations, including but not limited to, FAI’s (First Article Inspection), C of C’s (Certification of Compliance), PO’s (Purchase Order), clearance of discrepancies
  • Support the Global Sourcing Team as required
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for tooling located at suppliers and monitor tool rework required to support engineering changes or general maintenance
  • Act as the Material Logistics focal in change board activities, program reviews and cross functional team meetings
  • Initiate and lead in improvement projects related to the Demand to Supply process, including but not limited to, cost reductions, system modifications and data management
  • Train other team members as necessary
  • Provide solutions to a variety of technical/business related problems of moderate scope and complexity

  • Working knowledge of business law concepts, for example, definition of offer and acceptance, legal terminology and interpretation of contracts
  • Working knowledge of departmental policies and practices
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, email and web-based applications
  • Working knowledge of aircraft manufacturing specific to assigned desk
  • Broad verbal and written technical and business communication skills
  • Financial skills necessary to perform independent analysis and calculate cost benefit
  • Project management and leadership skills necessary to lead both inter-departmental and intra-departmental teams on special projects
