Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Logistician to join the Materials and Information Management team in the United States. You will support daily shipping/receiving activities, coordinate end-to-end logistics, and ensure compliant operations while working with site personnel and carriers.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) with relevant experience, strong communication and collaboration skills, and familiarity with government property requirements.

Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Materials and Information Management team is seeking an Logistician to join their team! The newest teammember will support daily shipping and receiving activities and ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant logistics operations. This role works closely with site personnel and carriers to move materials safely and reliably while following established procedures.

Day to day includes:

  • Maintain and analyze data and metrics on a regular basis using Microsoft Office and Power Platform tools (e.g., developing and updating spreadsheets, dashboards, and simple automated workflows) to track shipping/receiving performance, identify trends or bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in meetings with site and corporate partners to report status, support ongoing initiatives, and ensure adherence to applicable procedures and regulatory requirements, including composing and issuing reports.
  • Coordinate end-to-end shipping and receiving activities each day, including preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, entering and tracking orders in applicable systems, scheduling pick-ups and deliveries with carriers, monitoring shipment status, and working with site personnel to resolve any discrepancies, delays, or damage issues that arise.
  • Engage frequently with internal customers to understand their needs and priorities, and adjust plans to meet schedule and quality expectations.
  • Perform daily and periodic vehicle fleet support activities, including conducting vehicle checks, moving vehicles as needed to support site operations, and coordinating vehicle services (e.g., fuel, cleaning, repairs).
  • Plan and track regular maintenance and inspections to ensure fleet readiness and compliance with applicable requirements, while analyzing vehicle usage, accident, and maintenance patterns to identify trends, inform leadership of emerging issues, and recommend actions to improve safety, reliability, and cost effectiveness of the fleet
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Degrees in Logistics or Supply Chain Management are preferred, but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with the Code of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/CFAR) and foundational understanding of government property requirements.

Pay Range

$63,900.00 - $97,800.00 annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
