Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a motivated logistics professional to join the Asset Management (AM) unit within the Materials & Information Management (MIM) department.

This role supports government property oversight and inventory operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and superior customer service across the organization, while contributing to the NNL mission of safe and reliable naval propulsion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Familiarity with FAR/CFAR government property requirements preferred.
  • Experience in logistics, government property management, or inventory control is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support government property oversight from cradle to grave, including asset tagging, property records updates, and dispositions.
  • Maintain understanding of federal and local regulations governing property oversight.
  • Execute inventory control and material management tasks: stock level analysis, transaction processing, and reports.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to measure property and inventory performance.
  • Provide superior customer service and quality materials management across site, corporate, and program levels.
  • Communicate effectively with peers, partners, stakeholders, and leadership.

Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a motivated logistics professional to join the Asset Management (AM) unit within the Materials & Information Management (MIM) department. The selected individual will support all aspects of government property management and inventory operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and superior customer service across the organization.

Day to day includes:

  • Support all aspects of government property oversight activities from cradle to grave, including asset tagging, property records updates, property dispositions, and conducting subcontractor property assessments at off?site locations when applicable.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of federal and local regulations concerning government property oversight.
  • Execute all aspects of inventory control and material management, including part record development, stock level analysis and adjustments, inventory transaction processing, report generation, metric development, annual inventory/financial validations, and Purchase Card actions.
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain metrics that measure and improve government property management and inventory management performance.
  • Provide support to site, corporate, and program level initiatives and functions by providing superior customer service and quality materials management.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with peers, functional partners, stakeholders, and leadership across organizational boundaries.
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Preferred Skills
  • Degrees in Logistics or Supply Chain Management are preferred, but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse teams and influence outcomes.
  • Effective problem?solving abilities and strong organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with the Code of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/CFAR) and foundational understanding of government property requirements.
  • Experience in logistics, inventory control, government property management, supply chain operations, or a related field is highly desirable.

Pay Range

$52,300.00 - $78,500.00 annually

Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We rely on the dedication and innovation of our nearly 8000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel.
