Job summary

AMERICAN WOOD FIBERS in Marshall, TX is seeking a Log Yard Heavy Equipment Operator responsible for safely operating heavy yard equipment, loading logs, and ensuring efficient production of wood flour and shavings. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, squat, or stoop, and to work in all weather conditions.

You will work with loaders, knuckle boom, and skid steer, coordinate with truck drivers, and participate in safety meetings while maintaining yard order and equipment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop.
• Experience operating mobile equipment and forklift.
• Background and drug screening required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Produce wood shavings and manage yard inventory to meet shift goals.
• Operate and maintain shingers and yard equipment for safe, efficient production.
• Coordinate with truck drivers to ensure smooth inbound/outbound flow.
• Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE.
• Assist in keeping the log yard organized and logs sorted by specifications.
