Job summary

Idaho Forest Group in Moyie Springs is seeking Log Yard Operators with Heavy Equipment Experience. From $28.93 per hour DOE. This full-time swing-shift role operates heavy equipment to sort logs by size and species, unload logs from trucks, and move logs from yard to the mill.

This is a full time position on swing shift. Full benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance after 30 days. Other benefits include 401K with 5% company match and 8 paid holidays!

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License required.
• Experience with heavy equipment is preferred.
• Willingness to work varied shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Sort logs by size and species and load/move logs as directed.
• Operate 988 and other rolling stock in the log yard.
• Unload logs from trucks and deliver logs to the mill.
• Maintain production pace and follow safety rules.

Job description

Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking Log Yard Operators with Heavy Equipment Experience to join our Moyie Springs team. From $28.93 per hour DOE. This position will operate heavy equipment to sort logs by size and species, unload logs from trucks, deliver logs from log yard to the mill, and spread loads loads as needed. This is a full time position on swing shift. Full benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance after 30 days. Other benefits include 401K with 5% company match and 8 paid holidays!

Essential Functions:

• Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with rules, regulations and JSAs
• Sort logs, load and move logs
• Recognize species to store properly
• Operate 988 and other Rolling Stock in Log Yard
• Consistently keep a production level work pace
• Other duties as needed

Specific job duties and shifts may vary per mill and based on machinery.

Qualifications:

• Knowing species and log form desirable
• Must be able to work various shifts, days, and overtime as needed
• High School Diploma or GED (or willingness to quickly obtain one as a condition of employment)
• Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements:

Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations and airborne particles (sawdust).
