The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk, CO is hiring a full-time Emergency Medical Technician. Compensation reflects base pay of $21.00–$22.00 per hour, plus a rich benefits package including paid holidays, vacation, sick time, tuition reimbursement, and retirement matching after 90 days.

The EMT will perform patient assessments, administer first aid and BLS, and coordinate transports as needed. A state EMT-B certification, CPR, driver’s license, and physical stamina are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Holds Colorado EMT-B certification and renewals.
• Holds CPR certification.
• Holds a valid State Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift, carry, and balance heavy loads and operate related equipment.
• Eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Patient assessments, including primary exams and Basic Life Support.
• Recognize need for ALS, ambulance transport, or other services.
• Interview patients and coordinate transfers and follow-up.
• Inspect, maintain, and clean equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
• Follow Emergency Response Plan, including disaster and MCI operations.
• Infection control and handling of hazardous materials.
• Identify hazardous atmospheres and incidents.
• Support company policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Patient assessments, including physical examination and First Aid and Basic Life Support including airway management, ventilator support, circulatory and shock management, clinical assessment, orthopedic care, medication administration, obstetrics, medical and trauma care and patient extrication and safety
• Ability to recognize the need for special or additional assistance, including Advanced Life Support, ambulance transport, aero medical transport, patient extrication, rescue, or other services
• Responsible for appropriately interviewing patients, family members, bystanders, and witnesses. May also be responsible for any Physician contact, patient transfer and referral, transfer of care and follow up
• Responsible for doing Inspection, inventory, maintenance, preventative maintenance and cleaning of grounds, facilities, work areas, vehicles, supplies, and equipment
• Understands and performs appropriately under the Emergency Response Plan, including disaster and Multiple Casualty Incident (MCI) operations and management
• Infection control, biohazardous material identification, clean up and disposal
• Basic identification of hazardous atmospheres, materials, and incidents
• Other related duties including but not limited to complying with the following:Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Colorado Gaming Rules and Regulations, Colorado Internal Control Minimum Procedures, Colorado Liquor and Beer Codes, Federal requirements for Anti-Money Laundering, Company Policies, and IRS reporting

Skills, Education and Other Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possesses and maintains a valid and current State of Colorado Emergency Medical Technician – Basic certification and completes all requirements for renewal, including continuing education classes or hours
• Possesses and maintains a valid and current American Heart Association or an accepted equivalent nationally standardized Healthcare Provider CPR certification card
• Possesses and maintains a valid and current state Driver’s License
• Ability to lift, carry, and balance heavy loads. Manipulate and operate tools, equipment, instruments, implements etc. to the specifications, standards, etc., of the manufacturer or Patient Care Protocols
