Union Pacific Railroad is seeking a Mechanical Service Operator to support locomotive operations by stocking materials and keeping shop areas clean. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of the shop environment and play a key role in maintaining Union Pacific's mechanical services across facilities.

The role requires safety-conscious individuals who can work independently or with a team, operate shop machinery, and handle materials efficiently while adhering to strict safety guidelines.

Qualificações

• Minimum age 18 and valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic and interpreting data from tables/charts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using computers and basic keyboarding skills.
• Understanding and adherence to safety rules and procedures.
• Willingness to wear PPE and work around large equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Operate locomotives to transport them between shop locations, service tracks, switching areas, and line switches, and assist hostlers by operating derails.
• Safely operate a variety of shop machines and tools, including forklifts, backhoes, bobcats, mobile cranes, and high-pressure steam cleaning equipment.
• Restock locomotives with necessary materials, such as water, sand, and spare parts.
• Thoroughly clean locomotive interiors and exteriors, including floors and engine body.
• Conduct air brake tests and inspect materials and machinery for defects or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain effective communication with team members using radios and signals.
